Created his website and began uploading songs to SectionZ and producing under the alias “deadmau5”.
Name came from the time Joel found a dead mouse in his computer after having it crash while talking to friends online. Online friends began referring to Joel as the “dead mouse guy,” and “deadmouse” being too long of a username, Joel landed on “deadmau5″

The 2019/20 US cube v3 tour saw Pollstar recognition at #9 in the US and #36 worldwide. 39 shows in 17 cities, including sold out shows in Los Angeles (x5), Red Rocks (x2) and NYC (x4). 150,000 tickets were sold, 5000 VIP packages and $1m in merchandise sales. Press coverage included Rolling Stone, Billboard, Variety, NY Times and Miami New Times.

Billboard say it “might be the song of the summer”. Zane Lowe premiered the track on Beats 1 followed soon after by Annie Mac on BBC radio 1. “Pomegranate” looks set for big things over the coming months…
